Pretty city before composed by 2 parts : Buda and Pest separated by the Danube (in reality 3 cities were present in the past with OBuda, the Old Buda). Buda is a more historic place and Pest a more modern one. I liked and advise to see :

In Buda :

• Várhegy : The "Castle Hill"
• The St mathias Church : Beautiful
• The Fishermen's Bastion and the Ramparts : Very nice...
• The Castle : Not amazing but worth to see it...
• The funiculaire : Funny...
• The Chain Bridge and the Danube : Nice
• ...

In Pest :

• The Corso : Pedestrian promenade along Danube
• Vörösmarty Tér : A place which could be the "heart of the city"
• Váci Utca : Commercial street
• Ferenciek Tér : Nice buildings on this place
• The Central Market : Funny. Touristic and local products.
• The Saint Stephen's Basilica : To see...
• Andrássy Utca : Nice avenue from downtown to Városliget
• Városliget : Woods of the city where are the Zoo and some other things...
• The Baths : Széchenyi Baths in Városliget tested and approved !
• The Zoo : Nice !
• ...

I advise to take the Budapest Card to travel easily in the city and to get discounts on many touristic places (Museums, Zoo...).
